Volunteer Opportunities

The City of Rancho Cucamonga's Community Services Department offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to those seeking to support the community. Some positions may require a one-time commitment, while others may require an on-going commitment for a specified amount of time. Please view the following volunteer opportunities to see which is right for you:

 


Commodities Distribution

  • The first Monday of each month.

  • Assist local Senior Citizens by packing and delivering food to homebound seniors in our community.

Gift Shop Aide

Cashier for the Trading Post Gift Shop. Provide customer service, cash handling and inventory control.

  • Prerequisites: Must be 18 years of age or older and be fingerprinted prior to volunteering

  • Available Shifts: 9:00 am-11:00 am and 11:00 am-1:00 pm, 

  • Location: James L. Brulte Senior Center at Central Park

Greeter

Greet patrons as they enter Central Park, provide customer service and assistance as needed.

  • Prerequisites: Must be 15 years of age or older

  • Available Shifts: Monday-Friday

Host and Hostess (Senior Center)

Educate the community about Central Park's facility and programming by leading guided tours at Central Park.

  • Time Commitment: Monday-Friday

Nutrition Aide

Provide customer service for the Senior Nutrition Program, serve meals to patrons and clear the tables after the meal service.

  • Prerequisites: Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Available Shifts: Monday-Friday

    • Servers: 10:00 am-1:00 pm

    • Kitchen Assistants: 10:00 am-1:00 pm

Playschool Aide

Assist Playschool class instructors with their daily tasks.

  • Prerequisites: Must be 15 years of age or older

  • Time Commitment: Varies depending upon Playschool class schedule

  • Location: Goldy S. Lewis Community Center at Central Park and/or Lions East

Professional Services Associate

Provide lectures, seminars, health screening, counseling services, etc.

  • Prerequisites: Varies based upon services offered

  • Time Commitment: Hours will vary based on classes offered and ability of volunteer

Recreation Instructor

Provide instruction for a variety of recreational classes.

  • Prerequisites: Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Time Commitment: Hours will vary based on classes offered and ability of volunteer to provide service

Senior Advisory Committee Member

Description

  • Prerequisites: Must be at least 50 years of age and a resident of Rancho Cucamonga

  • Time Commitment: 4th Monday of every month from 9:00 am-11:00 am

Assist in the organization of special events. Duties may include decorating, preparing food, and making phone calls.

  • Prerequisites: Must be 15 years of age or older

Description

  • Prerequisite: Must be at least 50 years of age and a resident of Rancho Cucamonga

  • Time Commitment: 3rd Tuesday of every month from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
