Youth Activities
For more information on any of the City sports below,
please contact the youth sports staff and we will mail an information
and registration packet to you. Registration begins approximately one
month prior to each season. Call 477-2785 for current program dates and

PEE WEE SOCCER
For all boys and girls ages 3-5
This seven-week instructional program teaches the basic fundamentals and
skills of soccer. Practice games take place twice a week. Team T-shirt
is included.

PEE WEE BASKETBALL
For all boys and girls ages 3-5
A seven week instructional program that teaches the basic skills of basketball.
Smaller balls and lower baskets are used to keep the children motivated.
Practice games take place twice a week. Team T-shirt is included.

as a great introduction to Tee Ball. Practice games take place twice a
week. Team T-shirt and hat are included.

BASKETBALL LEAGUES
For all boys and girls ages 6-15
Separate girls leagues and boys leagues will be offered. This is an 8-week
league that concludes with an All-City Basketball Tournament. Practices
begin two weeks prior to the start of the season. All the teams are coached
by volunteer coaches who teach the participants the fundamentals of basketball.
Team uniforms and participation trophy are included.
Team sponsors are required to help subsidize gym rental fees.

COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL LEAGUE:
Resident and Non-resident team registration will be $600.00 and open until September 5th or until all space is filled.
There will be an additional charge of $10 per non-resident player for each team. **Teams may put down a $100.00 deposit to hold a spot. The remaining fee will be due no later than September 8th.

RACQUETBALL OPEN PLAY
For all boys and girls ages 7-17
Bring a friend and play some racquetball at the Family Sports Center.
The Family Sports Center has five indoor racquetball courts available
for drop-in or reserved play seven days a week. Courts can be reserved
by calling the Family Sports Center at 477-2785.

VOLLEYBALL LEAGUES (Games Only Program)
For all boys and girls grades 5th-8th
Everyone is encouraged to register for this program regardless of ability
level. Volunteer coaches will teach the fundamentals of volleyball to
their team during the 8 weeks of league play. Practice may begin two weeks
prior to the season and are scheduled by the coaches.

YOUTH TRACK AND FIELD
Track Meet
April 5, 2008, 7:30 a.m.
Los Osos High School
Boys and girls have an exciting opportunity to compete in the Inland Valley Municipal Athletic Association Track Meet to be held in late April or early May. Participants will be taught the proper stretching techniques along with training in the respective events. Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes (No cleats or track spikes are allowed). There will be separate divisions for boys and girls. Each participant is limited to two events plus one relay. Events available are listed below.

Rules:
- Participants are limited to two (2) events;
- Track spikes or shoes designed for spikes are not allowed:
- Starting blocks will not be used;
- Softball throw will use a leather softball;
- Shot put events, girls will use a 6 lb. shot and boys will use an 8 lb. shot.
Mail in or drop box registration:
Residents: December 17, 2007 through the day of the meet
Non-Residents: December 24, 2007 through the day of the meet
Fee: $45 per participant + $10 for non-residents (Birth certificate is required to register)
Pre-registration fees include t-shirts, medal and pre-meet training. Registration fees of $10 per participant will also be taken for those not participating in the pre-meet training up to the day of the track meet and on the morning of the track meet from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
