Teen Workshops 2008

Throughout the year, a variety of workshops are offered for Junior High and High School students. These workshops provide students with valuable information that will assist them in making good decisions.

Babysitters Workshops

AGES:  11 - 18
DATES:  January 26, 2008, March 22, 2008 & May 31, 2008
TIME:  9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
LOCATION:  RC Family Sports Center - Teen Center at 9059 San Bernardino Road
FEE:  $30.00 (Fee includes Babysitting Handbook, CPR Card and lunch)

With training you can become a "Super Sitter"! Class includes CPR training, safety tips, entertaining ideas, and babysitting manual. The workshop is presented by the City of Rancho Cucamonga Community Services Department and Certified American Heart Association Instructors.

Daugher/Mother Self Defense Class
Presented by Project Sister

DATE:  Saturday, May 10th
TIME:  9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

FEE:  Free to the first 10 couples

 

Attention all girls!!!!!  Learn self defense strategies to emphasize options, choices, and risks in taking action to prevent violence or deal with a violent situation.   A certified instructor from Project Sister will work with you to learn defense techniques with verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies and physical techniques that will enable you to successfully escape, resist and survive violent attacks.  Bring your mom, sister, aunt, grandmother or any special woman in your life.

TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

 

Do you have high school community service hours that you need to fulfill? Do you want to give back to your community?  Then now is the time to connect with TEEN CONNECTION, a volunteer program for teens who can have the opportunity to volunteer in various city programs and special events. The cost is FREE, so what are you waiting for?  (The City of Rancho Cucamonga is not currently accepting court ordered volunteering.)
