Human Services
The City of Rancho Cucamonga's Human Services Division provides a bilingual referral program on a wide variety of assistance programs and services for the whole community. This program provides referrals on the following issues: addiction treatment, basic needs and emergency assistance, children and youth, community information, legal aid, counseling and mental health, disabled assistance, education and literacy, employment and volunteering, family planning and parenting, health care, hotlines, consumer information, immigration, senior services, veterans programs and more.

WHOLE Community
» Bereavement
Support Group
The Bereavement Support Group will meet on a weekly at the L. Brulte Center
beginning Tuesday September 13th from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. The group will be
led by a professional grief counselor from West Coast Hospice, and is available for all adults

» Bus Passes
Monthly, weekly
and daily bus passes are available for purchase at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior

» Fishing License Application
Reduced fee and free fishing license applications are available at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center for those that qualify. Proof of income is required. For more information, call the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center at (909) 477-2780.
» HICAP Insurance Counseling
HICAP Insurance Counseling assists individuals with
questions regarding Medicare, HMO's, filing claims, understanding coverage and evaluating policies. Appointments are available on the first & third Thursday of each month from 9 am-12 pm, at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. To schedule an appointment, call HICAP at (909) 697-6565.
» Immunization Clinics
Immunization clinics are co-sponsored by Northtown Housing and Development Corporation and the San Bernardino County of Public Health Department. They serve children 2 months old to adults. » Inland Fair Housing Mediation Board
Inland Mediation assists in providing information and mediation in regard to such services as applying for ADA certification, problems with the local transit system, counseling for reverse

» Legal Assistance
Gregory A. Wood, Attorney at Law helps individuals deal with issues such as long term care, Medicare,
Medi-Cal, living trusts, estate planning, wills, durable powers of attorney and more. Private counseling sessions are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month from 12-1:20 pm, at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. » Operation Strategic Support
Help supply our military's deployed Armed Forces with items they miss everyday such as grooming aids, letters, magazines, newspaper clippings, videos, games, non-perishable foods, phone cards, etc. If you are interested in donating to our nations heroes, call the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center at (909) 477-2780 for more information.
» Passports
The City of Rancho Cucamonga offers passport and photo services at City Hall. Passport office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 am-3 pm. In order to receive a passport, you will need the following items:

2 passport photographs taken within the last 6 months, or photos may be taken at City Hall

» Take Off Pounds
Sensibly (TOPS)
TOPS is a group of individuals that meet on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm, at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. The common purpose is to lose weight safely. At TOPS, everyone has different hopes and dreams, different health conditions and weight loss goals. TOPS helps people meet their individual needs through group support. » USDA Food Commodities
The San Bernardino County Food Bank, along with the City of Rancho Cucamonga, distributes surplus food on the first Monday of every month to eligible residents at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. Eligibility is based on income and the size of the household.
Distribution begins at 11:00 a.m. on a first come, first served basis. There is a homebound delivery program for the physically disabled. Proof of residency and income are required. Services for Seniors
» AARP Driver Safety Program
This program is an 8-hour course and is taught in two 4-hour sessions at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. It is especially designed for motorists 50 years of age and better. After completion of the class, participants will receive a certificate issued by the DMV that enables one to apply for an insurance discount. The fee for the class is $10 per person; make checks payable to AARP. For dates and times, or to register, call the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center at (909) 477-2780.
» Blood Pressure Tests
Blood Pressure Tests are held on Fridays from 10 am-12 pm, at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. No appointments are necessary. Participants will be served on a first come, first served basis. For more information, call the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center at (909) 477-2780.
» Chair Massages
Massages may improve your circulation, ease muscle aches, relieve tension, improve flexibility and promote relaxation. Appointments will take place at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center on Thursdays from 10 am-1 pm. Massages are $10 per 15-minute sessions. » Companion Program
For over 25 years the Community Senior Services, a non-profit agency, has provided much needed support for seniors and their families in the community. The Senior Companion Program is one of nine services/programs offered. This program is designed to assist seniors in their homes by providing transportation, grocery shopping, community information and companionship. If you are 60 years or better, live on a limited income, would like to earn some extra money and become involved in your community, this program is for you. » Department of Aging and Adult Service (DAAS)
DAAS assists individuals with senior information and assistance, senior employment, family caregiver support resources and referrals, age related concerns and adult protective services. DAAS offers FREE private sessions every 3rd Thursday of the month from 11 am-1 pm, at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. » Gasoline Service Program
This is a unique gasoline-pumping program to assist Rancho Cucamonga seniors aged 60 and better. Nine Rancho Cucamonga service stations have agreed to participate to provide attendant gas pumping for seniors at self-service prices. » Health Screening
FREE health assessments are held on the second Tuesday of every month from 9 am-12 pm, at the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. Assessments are conducted by nurses from the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health and include the following: health history, pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, hemoglobin and blood sugar. Counseling and referrals are also available. No appointments are necessary. Participants will be served on a first come, first served basis. » Help Line
Senior Help Line is a free referral service that provides information on many senior related issues. For more information, call the Senior Help Line at (909) 596-1111.
» Home Maintenance Services
The Oldtimers Foundation provides seniors with an on-going home maintenance service. Services include minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs. For more information, call the Oldtimers Foundation at (909) 822-4493.
» LINK Program
The City of Rancho Cucamonga has implemented a new program called LINK. Volunteers keep in touch via telephone with ill, lonely and homebound seniors aged 60 years or better. Those interested in volunteering or taking part in the program, please contact the LINK Representative at (909) 477-2780, x2374.
» Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P)
R.S.V.P. is a wonderful way for people 55 years of age and better to stay active and perform a valuable service to the community. Working as a volunteer affords one the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, feel needed, stay active, and have fun! The following is a list of volunteer opportunities:

» Transportation Services
The City of Rancho Cucamonga has teamed with the Rancho Cucamonga Family YMCA to provide a free transportation program for Rancho Cucamonga seniors. A 15-passenger para transit bus provides two round trips to and from the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center Monday through Friday. To arrange a trip on the bus, call the Rancho Cucamonga Family YMCA at (909) 987-0777.
